Each country or territory has a map, the latest population and economic figures we can find and a brief summary of the 2003 news for each location. We hope this is not only a useful service for our readers, but an interesting one. We tell you how to contact the government and tourism authorities, who ships and flies there and what media outlets are active in each place — and we also tell you where to go to find out more on the Web. We think this section makes each January’s issue of Pacific Magazine a keeper.
