Tonga, Palau telcos plug into AvaBill Software Suite

AvaBill GSM Roaming Installation in Tonga The AvaBill Mediation System, one of the modules, will collect usage records from the Alcatel switch and distribute to the billing and roaming systems. The entire process is automated - operating in real-time, and requires minimal user intervention. The AvaBill Roaming Management Solution is designed to manage all aspects of providing a roaming service to inbound and outbound GSM roaming customers. Informatics is implementing the project as a turnkey solution, providing total hardware, OS and RDBMS integration services as well. The project is already underway and is expected to be completed in time for TCC to launch GSM post paid services and roaming facilities in Tonga. TCC is licensed as a full facility telecommunications service provider having a universal access commitment throughout the Kingdom of Tonga. The Company provides a range of local and international voice and data services via a fixed copper network and a GSM cellular network. New Telecom Billing & OSS Solution in Palau The live cut-over to the AvaBill System was made possible at Palau National Communications Corporation (PNCC), after Informatics Staff and the PNCC Team executed a well planned out roll-out. This also saw the introduction of on-line cashiering to the PNCC operations for the first time. This is expected to help PNCC to achieve on-line credit control (de-activation) and subsequent on-line re-activation of services on payment of outstanding bills. One of the main challenges of the project was the data migration, which was complicated due to the fact that PNCC operated three separate billing systems for fixed line / ISP operations, mobile operations and cable TV operations. Informatics¹ expertise together with the careful planning of the PNCC team enabled a smooth migration of the fixed line / ISP data without any delays. Informatics also conducted comprehensive training and provided on-site support to make the Live Cutover to the new Customer Care & Billing System a success. Upon completion of the next phases of the AvaBill installation at PNCC, the total solution will include Convergent Customer Care, Billing & Operational Support system for fixed line, ISP, GSM and cable TV, which will automate most of the operations at PNCC. PNCC is currently the exclusive telecommunications service provider in the Republic of Palau, providing a wide range of telecom services to the people in the country. Over the past twenty years PNCC has made vast system and operational improvements, adding digital switching and fibre-optic technologies, drastically increasing the customer base. Today, PNCC has one of the highest telephone penetration rates in the Pacific region and offers a full array of basic and advanced telecommunications services, including Internet access, cable television and cellular communications.
