Telephone users in the region now have access to a new range of Samsung digital telephone systems that will offer a cheaper and more integrated solution. The new range launched in June by Xceed Pasifika Ltd in partnership with Samsung Communications (Australia), has the advantage of being fully IP capable. - ADVERTISEMENT - This means that the telephone system can use the same network as those of computers. The Samsung OfficeServ supports Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP), giving it the ability to make and receive telephone calls, and facsimiles over IP-based data networks, infrastructure which is often in place within most businesses. Samsung's manager of communication and corporate business development, Neil Freeman says this makes calls cheaper. "It reduces network integration costs and makes cost per call affordable in the long-run," Freeman says. "This product is the first step in meeting the challenge of migrating our systems to the emerging IP Telephony world, while providing our customers with products that are reliable, cost competitive and of the highest quality," he says. Freeman added that the Samsung OfficeServ has other advanced features including call centre options, integrated voice mail, unified messaging, networking solutions, computer telephony integration, DECT mobility, hospitality options. "These applications can be customised to support key business drivers such as improving customer service and productivity while working over IP-based corporate data networks." Xceed's chief executive officer, Barry Cooney is optimistic about
their partnership with Samsung. Xceed Pasifika Limited currently supplies an array of business communications equipment and solutions to the Pacific region. |
