Publisher's Report
| Over
the past three months, two new staffers have joined the Pacific Magazine team.
Account Executive Trisha Finefeuiaki and Traffic Manager Dolly Lindo are part
of the advertising sales group headed by our Associate Publisher and Advertising
Director, Florence Betham. The growth of our sales staff reflects two important developments: a quickly strengthening regional market and a resulting growth in advertising sales for our magazine. Under Florence's leadership, we have seen a dramatic increase in regional advertising, a development fueled by a return of optimism and economic growth in many regions. Trisha Finefeuiaki is of Native Hawaiian ancestry. A graduate of Hawaii's famous Kamehameha Schools, Trisha is married to an American of Tongan ancestry. She joined us from the "traffic" unit of PacificBasin Communications. For those not familiar with media terminology, "traffic" refers to the staffers who ensure that advertisements are successfully "trafficked" through the publishing system from client to the printed page.
Dolly Lindo also joined us from Pacific Magazine's parent company. She was our receptionist. Before she joined our company, Dolly worked in retail sales. We recently reorganized traffic duties, and our magazines now handle traffic as part of a publication's staff, rather than a separate department. She also works with Trisha and Florence with account support services. Trisha and Dolly work with Edward Quitugua, our Guam-based sales representative, and the Sydney-based PressPak advertising sales representatives. Our sales team focuses on a number of publications. The primary publication, of course, is the one you are reading, Pacific Magazine. We also publish the annual Pacific Islands Buyer's Guide, the only such business-to-business directory of its breadth in the region. In addition, we produce a number of specialty publications for clients across the Pacific. These have proven to be quite popular, and allow us to provide our clients with marketing services that may not be available in their local market. Our team also produces Polynesia Magazine, the in-flight publication of Polynesian Airlines. We have been spending much time in the Samoas, a market whose culture is as rich as its potential. Our team of correspondents spread across the Pacific, organized by Editor In Chief Samantha Magick in Sydney, often gets the most attention when a new issue hits the newsstands. However, they would be the first to tell you that without a strong advertising sales team, we would not be able to bring you Pacific Magazine each month. So please join me in welcoming Trisha Finefeuiaki and Dolly Lindo to the Pacific Magazine team! |
