Local delegates will be highlighting American Samoa's preparations in hosting
the festival.

So far 16 countries have confirmed their participation but the committee says the actual numbers of participants have yet to be confirmed.

As part of the fundraising effort towards the festival, the committee will sell 3,500 American Samoa 2008 calendars, published by Honolulu-based Transoceanic Media, the publishers of Pacific Magazine.

The calendar includes an official letter from Gov. Togiola Tulafono about American Samoa hosting the festival. He says the festival will be an opportunity to share the beauty of the Samoan culture with the world.
