Guam Media Executive Arrested On Hawaii Warrant

(Pacific Daily News)

Prominent Guam media executive Evan Montvel-Cohen was arrested at the Guam International Airport on a bench warrant issued by a court in Hawaii, the Pacific Daily News reports.

According to the newspaper, the managing director of the Sorensen Media Group was indicted in Hawaii on two separate charges of theft, money laundering, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card. Montvel-Cohen was arrested after he returned from a trip to Manila.

Guam Assistant Attorney General David Rivera also noted there are different police report numbers on each charge, which might mean each one is connected to a separate incident. There were no details regarding the Hawaii case or cases, the newspaper reported.

Superior Court of Guam pro tem Judge Robert Klitzkie allowed Montvel-Cohen to pay a $75,000 personal recognizance bond and placed him under house arrest. A hearing on Montvel-Cohen's case is scheduled for June 27.
