'Tahiti Here' Performs At Quebec Festival

The traditional Tahitian dance group "Tahiti Here" is performing during the current two-week 27th Drummondville World Cultures Festival in Quebec, Canada.

Since 1982, Drummondville has been inviting people from around the world to come and show off their dances, music and culture at the "Mondial des Cultures,” which explores the traditions of people from North America and overseas each year.

The dance group from Tahiti started performing on the first day of the festival on Thursday, and will continue to stage daily performances through to the end of the event on July 13.

There are also groups from Drummondville, Argentina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, Spain, France, Georgia, India, Lithuania, Mexico, Switzerland, Slovakia and Vancouver.

"Tahiti Here" is no stranger to international festivals. It participated in the Folk Fest USA in Atlanta in 2003, the Springville (Utah) World Folkfest in 2005 and the Idaho International Dance Festival in 2006.
