Most Pacific Islands have gone through extreme changes over the past 50 years. In many cases, the islands have gone from traditional-style village based life to urbanization with all of the opportunities and challenges that it brings. On most islands, the changes have been for the better, On some islands, we remember with fondness the good old days. This special publication – a collaboration between Pacific Magazine and the Micronesian Seminar – looks at the islands of the "Micronesian" region and chronicles some of the dramatic changes that have taken place there over nearly a century.
